so does the cable, DSL and dial up and so forth go by the kilobits and megabits and not Kilobytes and megabytes. so when comcast says you get up to 6 MB. they mean 6 megabits per second. if thats the case then i am seriouslly really stupid since i thought they were saying 6 MB as in 6 Mega bytes per second

yes, but your not stupid. thats a good speed to have, and you can complain if your not getting it. since your paying for a service your not getting... dont let them bullshit you around about that its "your computer"... and dont let them tell you " oh, its just the peak time of traffic " ... your paying for that 6mb and by god, your gonna go through hell to get it :rock

:D

well downloading is fine even tho i dont download much. just sometimes the browsers are slow but right now it seems to be good. maybe cause the router was messed up so i reinstalled it through my computer and then reintalled the thing that goes to the other computer. i get around 2000 kilobits per second on that computer.

Because you would pay for your personal, and your work is usually a faster speed due to businesses getting different packages than your home.

Actually... now that I think about it, Do you pay anything for your internet on campus, Kevin?

but you dont usually pay for your work, is my point. As yes i pay $85 a month for cable tv/net

But depending on where you work, you're limited to what you can look up and where you can even go on the net.

You also stifle profits by sitting there browsing on the net instead of working. :D

85 a month though? Sorry...
