I'm officially done with my undergraduate degree. It's a big relief, but at the same time I am very sad to go. I had a lot of good times at school. Unfortunately I won't be spending spring quarter in Athens this year. I will miss that. But on the bright side, I am ready to move on. I am getting married May 26, so I have that to look forward to
.
As far as jobs go, I really wanted/needed to stay around home for a while. Nicole Teaches here for one and loves her job, I would hate to cause her to pack and move elsewhere. Secondly, I need to stay to help support my grandparents. They are getting up there in age and have a hard time taking care of their large home/property. They have helped me tremendously and I wish to try to return the favor.
My place of internship would be an excellent Job, and they keep telling me how much they want me back. The only problem is that they are under a corporate hiring freeze :mad . I am interviewing with GE on Thursday for a Process Engineer. They are located about 1:15 away from home. Not to far, but far enough to have to move. They are a VERY good company to work for, and it is very hard to get in the door there. In fact, they are rated by Forbes as the "#1 most admired companies in 2006." I am happy that I get the chance to interview. The interview will be rough though. It is scheduled from 8:00 am - 2:00pm. I have to interview with a number of people. HR Manager, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Florescent Manager, Hourly Team Leaders, and Manager of Shop Operations. It should be pretty intense, but I am confident in my abilities.
I hope the job situations works out soon. I need to get income flowing in and get on my feet before the wedding. I think it will, it's just a matter of what sacrifices I'm willing to make in regards to location.
