so...do you believe

Right, but until we actually put a human on the surface with somesort of portable lab...read Skylab II...we're just chasing our tails for the moment

Not true, the existence of water is almost always a precursor to the existence of life.

AND, they are planning to send micro-organisms (bacteria) to that area, to discover if life can actually sustain itself in deep space.

Don't make me break out the Uber Geek Stick...Cause I'll do it friend:ninja:D

In theory, you're right...but we still haven't successfully tested the ice on Mars' polar regions...it's all been a spectrum analysis from orbit...remember, everything we've sent in that direction has either crashed or lost it's signal. Only the missions to the equator have had positive results....all other's have been severely hampered in some way shape or form

What puzzles me is, how can we be sure that all of our scientific theories and rules can apply to another planet? For instance, we say to live it must breathe, eat and all that stuff. But how do we know that there couldnt be an intellegent life form out there to which these theories or rules do not apply?

Is it possible, yes, probable yes. That is my point, and yes all we have is theory.

For now we will have to take comfort in the idea that poeple smarter than us (slightly smarter than I:p) are in dark rooms, with chalkboards figuring this stuff out.

That should make you feel better:D

The best theory to date, is that we live in a "multi-verse" and that like I stated earlier, each one was developed exclusively to support life within its realm.

This gave way to the "God Theory" that indicates that in order for our particular universe to have been created, it was possibly done so at the hands of "A Creative Intelligence" simply because theory suggests that due to the indices of the universe formation, there are things left undone, that recommend the the idea that something/someone knew what they were doing.

Clear as mud, I can go deeper if need be:)

Ahhhh yes, I am a guy, and my sexy has been determined by females...Which are the only opinions I take so far as that matter anyhow:D

rgrgrgrgr

Ok, so back to this Sexy nerdy girl I was dating...beautiful red head, matching carper and drapes, you know? had no issues getting nekkid and just walking around like it was normal...her parents were kinda hippies, so the nekkid part came easy to her....

that their is life on other planets

No...Scratch that

--------->Yes.

I believe that it is possible, yes. And there is no reason to think that it does not really.

If what M-Theory says has any truth at all, it suggests that each universe, and what lies within it, was custom suited for life in some fashion, and that each new universe and what lies within, is created to sustain life at some level.

My beliefs at least

I'm going with Bill Nye the science guy on this.

If there isn't, then thats a terrible waste of space.

:homo:

Waste not, want not.

I believe this whole-heartedly. It is possible we will never, ever find this other life or vice versa. I would think we would be foolish to think that this planet, out of the trillions of stars in the sky is the only one to support life, in whatever form that might be.

===:ninja But if you believe we are not the only planet to support life, why do you think they would never find us and/or vice versa. :confused

I have a theory that there could be another planet full of humans, just like earth, that is more advanced and thats where the UFOs come from. Other humans from a more advanced earth that are checking in on us. Just a weird thought I had one day.

ET....go...home

Yes, I do. The universe can't just revolve around us.

:homo: too

You never know. I think the smartest people are the ones that are able to admit that they never know for sure.

Low blow.

I think AEF is dumb then...

 :) That's just not right on so many levels. :24:
