To be honest, I decided on a corn snake before I knew that pythons weren't allowed in the city here. they don't get as big and therefore don't require the biggest aquariums, which are freaking expensive. I never did inquire about how much the python itself would have cost.

I've had many pythons, you can get them cheap it just depends what kind it is and how big it is when you get it.

Well, it's a moot point. Can't have one anyway and it costs too much to maintain one. Having a corn snake won't be cheap either but it'll be more manageable. :)

Nope. Just hamsters. :D

LOL we fed a Hamster to our African Rock Python once!

Really though snakes aren't very hard to take care of especially if it's a small one, you'll really like having one I'm sure, they are really cool.

Well I got my Burmese Python from a private seller and he was a few months old for $200 and their cages can run $1,000. Cuz they can get anywhere from 9 feet to I think 20 feet long. It doesn't cost much to feed them only $10 a rat and they eat once every few weeks. It's having to buy larger aquariums that has put me out the most. The bedding isn't too expensive but if they get mites then your looking at a real PITA to get rid of them. Vet bills are expensive too if they ever need to go into a vet for anything. Medication can really cost you and good luck giving it to them! I've been lucky cuz I clean his bedding often and he has not had mites. I also stick him in the bathtub every once in a while. He's been very healthy fortunately.

Yeah, it's the cages that threw me off. Those things are freaking expensive and you have to keep upgrading as they grow. Corn snakes only get to be 5 feet long so I won't have to get as big a cage. I'm keeping an eye out for a breeder/private seller around here. As soon as I find one I like that has young ones I'll be getting me a new buddy. :D

thats the best way to go is through a private seller IMO. I'm very happy with him and you'll be happy with your new buddy! Just make sure you clean his bedding often and give him a soak every now and then so that he doesn't get mites and dont forget the heat lamp. And take pictures and videos when you get him! :D

By Brother in law's snake keeps escaping, you'd think he's sorted out some better security on the tank by now, my sister went in the living room once and caught it just before it completely disappeared up the chimney, was probably after the jackdaws nesting at the top.

Yeah Peter I keep a lock his aquariums! There's no way for him to get out of them unless he gets through the screen at the top which he has made holes in it but duct tape works great! LOL! :D

Thanks dk! :D So what was that segment about?

it was a behind the scenes pro wrestling documentary and one segment in it about Jake was just so disturbing, it talked about how his Father raped his daughter and she gave birth to him, thus making his father his grandfather and his mother his sister, he is an alcoholic and a crack addict as well.
