Do you think it should be up to the Business and the owners if there should be smoking allowed or not in their place of business and not up to the local/state government.

in Pa if you own a bar and if you sell more booze then food it's up to you i believe cause i still see smoking in Bars.

so what are your takes on this. You're either a smoker or non smoker.

as a smoker do you care if your state has a ban on smoking in public places and if your a non smoker do you really care or are you happy that this ban is in effect??

Smoke doesnt bother me at all. in fact i like the smell of it. but i can see peoples point of views if they dont like to breathe in the smoke cause they just dont like it or theyre asthmatic or other breahting problems.

Well I think it's perfect now cause without the smoking ban there would be people smoking in restaurants where their are kids and babies so no.

I've never been a smoker, so I'm kinda glad my days of being stuck in the smoking section with my wife are over. In TN you can't smoke in any restaurant anymore.

But I think it should be in the hands of the business owner and not the government even though obviously I'm not complaining too much.

I think the business should decide if they want to be smoking or non.

As grown ups, we can make our own individual decision on whether to frequent an establishment allowing smoking if we don't smoke and vice versa. If you have children in tow, then as an adult you would need to be responsible enough to not expose them to the risks of smoking.

I suppose if you work somewhere and don't smoke and it really bothers you, then you would have to make a decision to either find another job or try not to complain.

I used to be a smoker. I now am not.

BTW, Haus..... that signature video makes me cringe! Ouch!

Now that it's been in affect here for over 5 years I think it's a good idea. I used to hate coming home smelling of cigerette smoke.

I have mixed feelings about this
I don't like to smell smoke when I'm eating but for example my best friend smokes like crazy
so she is constantly asking me to go outside with her to smoke... so sometimes I wish there was a place where we could talk and she can smoke without having to get up every 5 min to go outside to smoke...

Friggin smoke natzi asshats.

I wish some mega billionaire would open up a bar and take this fight to the supreme court. How in the hell can a private business that not only gets zero funding from the govt but pays a ton of taxes be told whether smoking is allowed or not.

In MI they are again going to attempt to ban it in all public buildings. The sticking point was a joke as the casinos lobbied hard to keep it allowed in them.

I go to a tiny little diner where the owner smokes. Who the hell has the right to tell her she has to quit in her own business. This second hand smoke crap is a bunch of bull shit and I am fed up with this shit.

And I do NOT smoke. This is a matter of govt sticking its damn nose into every friggin thing we do from cradle to grave

I believe it should be up to the owner, but only if they own a a pub or a club.
I can live with it in offices. Those are hard to probably control air quality.

But in a resturant , pub, or bar no friggin way.

If an owner loses business because of smokers he will ban smoking himself.

If customers don't like smoke then they can go where ever they want as there will be non smoking places. That is already happening voluntarily.

As usual the damn idiots in CA are the ones that started this shit.

Next will be the ban where there are children. Gotta save the damn children right so if you smoke then no more in your house or you will get nailed for child abuse.

How friggin old do the cradle to gravers want us to live to anyway. You would think people had lower life expectancies when they probably went up over 15 percent in the last 50 years.

What I think is awful is when you have children... small children and babies... that smell like an ashtray.

People who smoke should at least not smoke around babies and children. You can always designate an area of your home to smoke in and put in an exhaust fan. Or smoke in the garage. And WTF are they thinking when driving in the car with the windows rolled up smoking with babies and children aboard? Selfish is what I say.

Maybe the government should look into that. :ninja

Next up is illegal to smoke with minors in the vehicle.

right :thumbup

I should have said that rather than the house would come first.

these rat bastards do this shit in increments. That is exactly how they will do this.

They don't have the balls to just attempt to ban smoking outright.

Then when they get even more broke some idiot will come up with the idea to tax bars, pubs and resturants if they want smoking. That will be a wind fall. They can make the cigs only available by sale by the establishment. You pay a fee to get in the door and then you guy the cigs there.

No they govt has no business what happens inside a home.

My sister and her husband just built a house and they both smoke. They both go in the garage to smoke so the house does not stink.

I agree with the part of smoking away from kids. If one smokes in a car they need to keep the window down. In a house go in another room. Common sense. Which is not something you can legilsate

You know how teachers and school personnel are required to report suspected signs of child abuse? Seems the government could make it such that if a child smells like a smoke stack, they report it. Just saying anything's possible. :D
