I so much appreciate you both giving me feedback on this song. It means alot that people other than just some of my family members see these.

Since I do have a separate binder that I write down the reason for writing each song or poem, I can tell you what happened. I was 18 years old. My first serious girlfriend had moved to Washington, (the state), and my second serious girlfriend had moved to Wisconsin. I was very lonely and depressed. So I put my anger, despair and depression into words and the song 'Smash the Glass' is the result.

**Wow, though, I wrote this 25 years ago!! My God, that's as old or older than most of the people on this forum!

On a personal, self-critical note, this is actual one of my favorite songs of all the ones I've written. Eventhough it's obviously very negative and angry, I was, (and am), very happy with the way it came out. Also, I really do want this recorded! Someday I've got to get into a studio!
