Sly also imitates an actor as well.

I think Tyson should be disqualified simply on the fact of biting someone during a bout, let alone the myriad of outside the ring antics.

on the other hand I would imagine a lot of young kids took up the sport after watching Rocky and/or tyson demolish people in the ring

why not Mr. T? Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed). Ivan Drago (Dolph Lungren)? Spider Rico? Why not throw Paulie and Mickey in there for old times sake....

Stallone did A LOT for the sport of boxing with the Rocky series. With that said, he does NOT deserve to be in the HOF.

Also, Tyson is a scumbag, if he were a Baseball player he would have been banned from Cooperstown a LONG time ago.

They have various categories:

IBHOFwebsite said:
* Modern (Last bout no earlier than 1943)

* Old-Timer (Last bout no earlier than 1893; no later than 1942)

* Pioneer (Last bout in or prior to 1892),

* Non- Participant (Those who have made contributions to the sport
apart from roles as boxers or observers. Based upon a candidates achievements and contributions in their particular field)

* Observer (Print and media journalists, publishers, writers,
historians, photographers and artists)

Stallone is in as an observer. Here's his page: http://www.ibhof.com/pages/about/inductees/observer/stallone.html

IMHO Mike Tyson is the greatest Heavyweight Boxer of all time, he DEFINITELY deserves a spot in the HOF.

And stallone for his contribution to the sport?

Stallone got a lot of people into Boxing with the Rocky series, you don't have to COMPETE to contribute to a sport, I have no issue with Stallone being inducted, fighter or not he is a Boxing Icon.

In that case, I guess we should give Frodo Baggins the Nobel Peace prize. :24::surrender

Seriously though, I fail to see what Rocky did for boxing. In case you were unaware, it was huge before the Rocky films and remained on the same level of popularity afterwards. The quality of boxers around dictates how popular the sport is, now some Hollywood film.
