Skype is one of the success stories of IT. It has grown so big over the last 5 years since this thread was made that Microsoft bought it and replaced their famous MSN Messenger software with it. Who would have thought that would happen 5 years ago?

I agree with you, I only use skype with my friends.
We can still chat on here so there's no need for that.

when I signed up for skype it took my first and last name as my skype name

I pretty much strictly use skype with friends and family. I rarely connect with strangers online outside of forums.
