These days, there is a general belief that you need skills and knowledge more than a degree to make money. Frankly speaking, getting an education does not mean you only learn theories, you also lean practical skills. Education builds knowledge and skills. When you have knowledge and skills can get you employed. Since education also gets you a degree which you can show as a validation for your knowledge and skills, you have higher chances of getting a job. Unfortunately, many degree-holders remain unemployed because either there are no jobs or there is no demand for the knowledge and skill they possesses.

I believe both go together. It's great to have the skills and experience but it looks better if you can show that you've gained qualifications for what you've learned.

I feel like it depends on the field of work you're going into. You have to work hard and acquire skills to get a degree, in some cases though you don't really need a degree in some fields just experience.

I think it’s mostly true. Skills and knowledge show what you can actually do, while degrees mainly signal formal education. In many fields, practical ability, problem-solving, and experience often matter more than the piece of paper you hold.
