Although the U.S. is one of the richest societies in history, it still lags behind other developed nations in many important indicators of human development – key factors like how we educate our children, how we treat our prisoners, how we take care of the sick and more. In some instances, the U.S.'s performance is downright abysmal, far below foreign countries that are snidely looked-down-upon as "third world." Here are six of the most egregious examples that show how far we still have to go:

Keeps the public beheadings and stoneings off the streets...perhaps some other nations could use us for a model.

Not really,,,,when even the army cannot enter their area you have no reason to brag about your control. Only yesterday a bomb exploded in the fruit/veggie market of the capital killing 22 and maiming hundreds. Taliban disowned the blast but some other group did.
They say there are many sub groups in Taliban as well as other insurgent terrorist groups behind such bombings.
Please broaden your view before boasting that you have achieved anything from the war!

Sounds like you guys need to get tough on crime like Americw has.
But instead you guys give the terrorist a place to legally operate by law and hand out sharia law within those lands.

On real crimes....charging 9 month old babies with conspiring to commit murder is not going in the right direction.
Nor imposing death on a Christian woman for getting a drink of water from an unmarked cup.

And how are you blaming this on the United States?
Its in your nation that legally harbors terrorists..and you blame the US when they terrorize?
But you are right..much hasnt been accomplished with the war...as all they did was run home to pk where it is a safe haven.
Perhaps if PK wasnt the safe haven PK would not be suffering from such acts of terror.

Well when you provide them land to live on and give legislation for them to operate don't cry foul when the monsters leave the play ground.
They terrorize. ..what fun is it for them to terrorize themselves?..Did you think they would just kill each other?

Pakistan obviously has issues of divided loyalties in it's military and government.

Seriously, if you were a Pakistani soldier loyal to defending his own citizenry, would you be enthusiastic about following an officer core that was hiding one of the world's most notorious terrorists?

I would be ashamed to be seen in uniform.

Since Maz's threads always come back to something about Pakistan maybe this is as good a place as any to ask why the US ever supported PK and not India?

why don't you ask your authorities or google for word from your think tanks??

To know that first you must study geographical topology of Pakistan and Afghanistan as well as India and Iran. They all are neighbors. India being arch enemy of Pakistan, Afghanistan yet another enemy, Iran a nodding friend...
Pakistan army is working together with the US troops,,,,,,a place where even the US or NATO troops cannot enter why should you expect Pakistani army to gush in for YOUR sake?? They too have their limits ....they won't fight your meaningless war for ever,,,help yourself or leave. After the US leaves Afghanistan and Pakistan it will be a problem left to resolve between Afghanistan and Pakistan but if this problem is resolved where would the US sell its ordinance??

Surely the US has suffered yet another historical defeat in Afghanistan ,,,,,,and is now try to sneak out of there...

India is arch enemy of Pakistan,,,it was YOUR choice to choose whoever you liked...and not so without vested interest.

FYI Indians are more organized than Pakistan and hiring them would have been hell for America and Americans!! Suppose if the US had chosen India as its ally in war then naturally the US would be fighting against Afghanistan and Pakistan together.
In that case worse could have happened given that Pakistan too is a nuclear power and also has other friends.

That was a contemplated ploy between CIA and ISI....
it's even said that Osama hasn't been killed!!

Why hasn't the US able to capture or kill Mullah Omer to this date??
Simple. They don't want to catch him or maybe he is their own Man directed to keep the post stirring !!
