Sideline thread for debate conversations...

I think I'm actually enjoying this debate more than the 'easier' one :) it's nicer to have a discussion about something I have a genuine opinion on, rather than something I've had to try and make up an opinion on.

:homo: I struggled in the first round because of that and I'm probably going to get creamed in the second round for the same reason. I am a passionate person but I know next to nothing about the majority of these issues we're debating. As a result, I have no opinion and I find it difficult to defend a position if I have no opinion. :ninja

I would just like to say that NOT having the last word is new for me. :D

Plenty of things I wanted to respond to..... but it's done.

Haha! Yeah, I did write most of my last response without the thought in my head that it was the last word, then had to go back and make it sound a bit more final.

Good luck anyway, if we get another tie breaker though I don't know if I can stand it :clap

The Tie-Breaker rounds are completed.

In what has to be thought of as two upsets-

Butterfly has defeated debating veteran Ed.

HK the newb has defeated long-time poster Redryder.

Congrats to both ladies and welcome to the semi-finals. :)

The next round will be posted soon.

These debates almost make me wish I had decided to go into criminal law like I had thought about doing. But only almost.

I did go to Law School. Left after Year 1.

Criminal Law was the class you got to go to in exchange for having to go to Contract Law and (shudder) Property Law aka "Dirt Law".

Enjoyed Criminal Law. Survived Contract Law. LOATHED Property Law.
