Should your sexual orientation define you?

As an open Bisexual and more than likely closet Homosexual, I don't let my orientation define me. Sure I like to joke about it and what not, but I believe that laughter is the best form of medicine. I know many gay people and they are really nice! Heck some of the most famous musicians are LGBT! Freddie Mercury, Elton John and David Bowie to name a few.

The people I come into contact with whom are gay seem to do the same thing, they are very open about it and it's generally one of the first things they disclose, it's kinda funny in a way... I could care less about their sexual preference, it's generally obvious anyway without saying.

I'll never understand it... :24:

I am heterosexual but I do not introduce myself to people and bring that fact up. My daughter has a very good friend who is gay. His gayness seems to define him. I added him as a friend on facebook because he has been very good to my daughter for over 15 years. As I read his status on my newsfeeds every day I realize his gayness seems to be his one defining characteristic. I really want to respond some days about what an angry little queen he seems to be today.:24: I don't in the interest of civility but it certainly crosses my mind.:ninja:nod:

I'm not sure if in this case if it is defining him or just trying to reassure or confirm his sexuality.. Pehaps his inner self worth is not confident about himself, or even worse he is one of those who must push his belief on others.. It has nothing to do with his sexuality but rather his attitude..

Why people must post everything on their "Status Line" is beyond my understanding.. :p
