They know that you buy them some...but Santa makes it magical, haven't you ever experienced that kind of joy? My comparison is a bit out there, I agree, but that's my point, with all of the reality that we have to deal with in our lifetimes...what's wrong with a little magic? Some people just insist on sucking the good out of everything!

All kids enjoy imagination and magic when they play, dosen't mean it's not as good just because they can tell the difference between reality and fantasy.

People are way too fucking serious. loosen the fuck up, have a bit of faith and imagination.

No idea why you think I'm getting up tight about this, to each their own, I couldn't really care less, just telling you my own personal opinion on how I would treat any kids I ever have when it comes to this. Can't understand why people think my way is that terrible. *shrugs*

Unfortunately, the light eventually goes out and reality sets in.....but hopefully the memories of childhood magic will linger on....

And I'm assuming your an expert on such things? Please do get over yourself.

Everyone uses logic, besides those with absolutely no common sense.

We can't all be the same. Learn to accept different people and viewpoints and you'll be much happier for it, as will the people around you. (remember?)

Can anyone here actually say with a straight face that they didn't trust their parents when they found out the truth about Santa? I doubt it.

Christmas is for kids and Santa is part of the deal. Good memories are made of things such as this.

I'm not the one attacking your viewpoint. There's a difference between expressing your opinion and attacking someone else's and being condescending. That I won't tolerate.

I believed Santa was real. My older brother was the one who told me the truth. I didn't resent my parents at all and I continued to enjoy Santa even though I didn't believe in him anymore. But I learned a lesson my parents didn't intend. When I wanted to know if the tooth fairy was real, I didn't ask my parents. I asked my older brother. When I wanted to know about sex I asked my brother. He became my trusted source.

I decided not to go that route with my kids. So I taught them about Santa but I told them it was pretend. They still seem to have fun with Santa. I know my way isn't the only way but that's what I did.

What's your definition of condescending?

I was attacking nobody, I was merely expressing my opinion.....you know, my 'viewpoint'? ......I said nothing that wasn't said back to me....you tolerated that though.

Interesting. I went the other way....I guess I'm a tad on the old fashioned side. It could depend on your personal experience as a child too....mine was great and I wanted the same for my children....what they do will be up to them but I can guess.

I think the belief in Santa adds some magic to a childs Christmas. From the moment I discovered santa didn't exist Christmas has never been the same again.

Why? Did " she " tell you Santa wasn't real? :D

Naw. My man is visiting his family in England and I'm lonely. ;)

I was simply responding to your condescending bitchy post. Do you really think you can get away with it without me giving it back to you? Good luck with that. :cool

As for you not attacking anyone, how about I remind you that you basically said telling your children the truth about Santa is sucking the good out of everything?
