No, but you can try and save children from a detrimental home environment.

And that's one reason why we have the Department of Social Services here in the United States.

The fact is most agencies are already underpaid, overworked, have to face tough budget cuts and have to work with families that don't want them involved in their family affairs in the first place.

It is very expensive to eat healthy foods on a regular basis. It should be obvious that the majority of overweight kids come from less privileged families. Matter of fact I believe there have been studies that prove that point but I'm too lazy to hunt for 'em.

Something else to consider is kids don't play outside anymore so it isn't just the fault of the diet. The streets are bare, the parks are usually empty and the power meters are spinning wildly.

Sorry, that's total bull shite.

If I saw a kid that had bruises or looked like they had been put through a ringer on more than one occasion, I'd be the first person to call someone. I don't look at it as trying to get into someones business, but there is no reason for a child to have to deal with someone who can't control their anger or apparently can't keep the safety of their child in mind. If that makes me a noseybody, I really don't care, particularly even if the person in question knows I was the one to call. That said, in all my life, never had to call anyone (did say something to someone about beating their dog though, because anyway you cut it, it doesn't take a man, but a coward to beat a dog or woman, not that I'm comparing the two LOL).

Look up "Zahara Barker". Perhaps if more family members of Zahara would of said something, the girl would still be alive.

Happily, there's a middle ground between 'feed your kids junk food' and 'don't feed your kids at all'.
