I'm torn. I think a lot of morals should be taught by the parents...but then again a lot of morals are also taught while you're in school growing up without you even realizing it. But I did say 'no', that morals shouldn't be taught in school...at least the big ones.
I also think they need to give the teachers the right to discipline the children in their care like when my parents went to school.
in the past i would have agreed with you, but the children today are more and more bringing themselves up with each generation having less proper parenting done.Just thought I'd start this debate leading on for another thread. I personally hold the view that morals should be taught by the parents. As you get older you get to make your own mind up about things anyway. I know that if I had kids I wouldn't want them to be taught how to lead their life by a stranger in a school. The schools are failing at their job of teaching educational skills as well so maybe they should stick to teaching maths and english ect and leave the morals to the parents.
Morals are life's lessons that we learn as we go along. Are they truly imparted to us by some third party? Be that parent or teacher? If someone tells you this is right and that is wrong, surely it means nothing unless you learn that for yourself? Otherwise it's just like me with financial exams...I can pass them...doesn't mean I understand them

true morals happen if you're out or in school. This really isn't a yes or no question. A better question would be "can morals be taught in school".
