She announced long ago she was out, sadly, but I would vote for her over Obama any day. I hope she runs in 2016, but I also hope to be a Canadian by 2016 so it's moot for me too.

It's a moot question... it's not going to happen in 2012 or 2016

Obama will win in 2012 and I don't have a clue what's going to happen in 2016

But I can bet you anything that none of these republicans have a chance at winning in 2012

And YES, I will vote for Obama over any of these clowns in the running
Yes it's moot, but it's still worth the conversation, imo.

I'd put my money on her waiting 'til 2016... people are so disenchanted with Obama and the Democrats right now that she wouldn't stand a chance even if she won the nomination. I think she'd actually even stand less of a chance than Obama does to be re-elected. She'll be hoping for a weak Republican winning next year and trying to defeat them.
I'm not so sure. The Repubs seem bent on finding the very vanilla-est vanilla available. If Hillary came in she'd make a big splash. Too bad she closed that door last Sunday.

We are used to both parties having their candidates settled long before the convention

Maybe those days are gone but if history means anything then it tells us anything can happen

Who would have though LBJ would have gave up a year before that election. When Bobby K entered it was the end of LBJ. Yes it was not at the convention but Bobby came in late to the fray compared to most.

Numerous candidates were elected after several votes at the convention. I realize times have changed. But if ever the time was ripe for a last minute entry I think this year would be one. If the unrest continues with OWS thru til the election then I think things could be interesting

Spoken like a true Democrat :D

You guys still gonna use the blame it on Bush?

It won't work as even one of the lts in the Democrat party said a few months ago it was Obamas economy. You can bet that tasty little morsel will get tons of air play come next summer and fall.

just in case you forgot

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/57025.html

.

Blame it on Bush? Nope, it's 100% in the hands of the house at this point.

They have publically said that their number one job is to make Obama a one term president, not to do the work of the people but to do anything and everything to defeat him.
Just take a look at what the republican house has done since they got into office... NOTHING!
Seriously, what have they done to help the economy?
All you heard the first two years of the Obama administration was, "Where are the jobs Mr. President?"
So where are the jobs Mr. Boehner? Why hasn't he introduced a single bill to help the economy or to help create jobs? Not ONE! Not even a crappy plan, nothing ziltch, nadda...

So who's fault is it? Who is the one to blame for the economy now?
The president has introduced numerous plans. But he cannot do shit if the house isn't even willing to bring them to the floor to be debated. Everything starts in the house... which has been nothing.

So how can you possibly put this crappy economy on the president? Since when can he pass law? How many job bills has he vetoed? Has he stopped the republican house from doing it's work?

The republicans want every American hurting, they do NOT want to do ANYTHING that will help the economy or create jobs. Remember what they said? Their number one goal is to make Obama a one term president.

FUCK THE REPUBLICANS

You never do answer when is enough, enough... to confiscate. You never address the disparity of those who don't pay a dime in taxes. I guess you think the mega rich can foot the entire bill despite conclusive evidence otherwise.

And you are either blind to where the wealth in this country is held or refuse to acknowledge it. Those who hold 93% of the wealth can afford to pay 93% of the taxes.

FUCK THE REPUBLICANS

Seconded. :D Job one is to keep Obama from accomplishing anything so they can put another Republican stooge in office to finish off the Middle Class.

So what do you think of Perry's tax plan?

20% flat income tax. No SSI or Medicare taxes anymore. $12,500 deduction for each individual. So that means a family of 4 will not pay ANY taxes on their first $50,000. They won't be paying ANY federal taxes at all, no SSI, no medicare, nothing.
So is this socialism?

"wealth envy" is a consistent, and inaccurate mantra you push at anyone who picks on the rich... you are blind to the fact that imbalances in wealth distribution make socialism a more palatable option for the disenfranchised. (I don't consider myself disenfranchised, yet...)

Have I defended the Republicans Tim?

Just because I rail against the dems does not mean I approve of the reps

And in case you forgot the reps only have the house. The dems have the presidency and senate.

I would add the house has presented several things but they never have been taken up by the senate. Me thinks there might be a case of both parties having their way of saying no eh?

EVERYTHING starts in the house.

and you are actually wrong. The house has NOT sent anything to the senate that was shot down. They haven't done jack shit.
So where are the jobs?

And I'm not saying you are standing up for the republicans, but you need to understand where the problem is. When you spout off how this is Obama's economy you are showing that you don't understand how things work.

The president can sign legislation into law or veto it. He doesn't write the laws. His main job is to use the bully pulpit to help push the house in a certain direction. But then people like you complain that he's giving too many speeches, that he's campaigning.
Well you can't have it both ways...

I should have clarified. I was not meaning to infer the house had sent over a jobs bill. I was referring in general. One thing that comes to mind is the budget. Which if I am not mistaken the dems have punted on several times and not taken up as an entire package.

Frankly when somebody in congress talks about a jobs bill though I think it is is just code for a hand out to somebody. Govt is not in the business of creating jobs. So we end up with crap like the stimulus that gets shoved down our throats only to find out nobody voting truly knew what was in it. Including providing guaranteed loans to two companies alone that have gone bankrupt and thus pissed away a billion dollars.

One thing for sure is Obama and every president should stop forcing their will on us using department regulations and executive orders to get their way. Just recently he had the EPA draft rules that basically are cap and trade which was voted down by congress. And what do we get from the liberals in the media. Crap saying that the right wants to pollute everything. His style is not conciliatory and frankly it is tiresome to hear those on the left whine that he is caving in to the right. I might buy that back with Clinton but Obama acts like a spoiled brat ideologue.

That's what nobody seems to be able to wrap their heads around, including most presidents. The President isn't a king. If the Constitution is followed, The pyramid is upside-down, with Congress squarely on top with the most power (in Washington) and The People over them.

So what you are saying is that the republicans ie Boehner is either an idiot or he is lying to the American public when he blames the president for high unemployment... right?

Boehner's no idiot.
.... ;)

I see the inference, but you typically frame your replies to avoid complete deflection of the negative vibes directed at Dems/President. Otherwise why not just come out and call a spade a spade? The Republicans are blatant liers or delusional, pandering to idiot voters. I choose the former.
