Here are the answers from each of the 51 contestants from this years Miss America competition.

Pay close attention to the answers from the different girls and what part of the country they are from... Yeah South, I'm looking at you-all

I was actually amazed at how many of them didn't even know that evolution is already taught in school...

and almost everyone of them said that we should also teach creationism along with it.

People can't even answer a simple question these days....

Every word regarding religion is so loaded anymore, I guess saying evolution should be taught in school means you're a baby eating atheist and one needs to chase it with a "but creationism too!!"...

One of the girls said we should only teach fact and not the theory... so does that mean we shouldn't teach about any other theory like Gravity?

I'd be interested to see her perceived list of facts...the word theory gets quite a bad reputation from it's colloquial cousin, the hair-brained idea :smiley24:

At this point I feel bad for beauty queens, they aren't bred for smarts, they're bred for pretty, but I get the sense this is how a good portion of the US population does feel.

The problem is that creationism is not really a theory as much as it is wishful thinking.

Ok, I want those 15 minutes of my life back. How can so many beautiful women be so stupid?

Although, they do kind of sound like politicians with all the dodging and ducking going on unintentionally, of course.

Thats Fn hilarious
and scary at the same time

I laugh out loud every time I hear this, still funny 4 years later. I believe US Americans...

And don't forget "such as". You can always tell who paid attention in school and who was busy batting their eye lashes for easy A's.

and I was the quite guy in the back who could tell you how many were tiles on the ceiling and floor which desks where out of place and which girl had the cutest feet and look at a list of spelling words for 5 seconds
and remember everyone of them cause I could see the list in my mind:)

Scientists (not miss usa contestants or baptist preachers) should decide what is taught in science classes. Teaching a world religions class in high school would be a good idea. Baptist preachers can have their say what is taught there. If Christian leaders want to waste the hours devoted to covering Christianity on creationism then I'd be disappointed but that would be their choice.

I had a boyfriend who failed Chemistry in high school because he refused to sit in class during the evolution lessons. His parents also wouldn't let him watch Mutant Ninja Teenage Turtles or Care Bears when he was a kid either. Go figure.
