Some believe sustainability starts with individual discipline, while others argue only collective policy can create real change. Which approach is more effective? How do personal habits and public policy support or undermine each other?

Personal responsibility shapes daily habits, creating demand for sustainable products and practices. Collective actions from governments, corporations, and communities can creates systemic change that individuals alone can’t achieve. Real progress happens when personal choices and collective policies reinforce each other.

I always ask this and that makes me reduce waste as much as I could, but the factories still pollute the air daily. Personal responsibility without collective action feels like pouring water in a basket. Collective effort without personal effort is a total waste..
