That's the absolute dumbest, most ignorant thing I've ever heard on the internet. And I read CNN every day.
Why? I just don't see one's body as one's self. I mean, all we really are is a bundle of memories in a skull surrounded by a bunch of meat. Hell, we barely exist at all as it is.

I mean no disrespect by this, but most of what you said seems just like typical romanticization of one's body. A body is just a husk, a tool to be used. If someone borrows your tools without permission and puts it back sure you can be mad, but its not that big of a deal...but if they break your tools then they must pay dearly for it. At least, thats how I see it.

What you do seem to understand, that when a woman is raped it breaks there emotional 'tool'. They have nightmare, cant sleep, some cant even have sex again (for a long time anyways). It takes a tool on someone that has been raped.. Its physical, but most of all emotional.

Well good for you. But did you stop to think about how that may be *slightly* offensive to a woman who's been sexually assaulted, and in some cases it's best to keep your mouth shut?

Now that just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

So then, I am begging you...PLEASE...donate your blood, sign up to donate your bone marrow or stem cells, grow your hair really long and give it to those groups that make wigs for cancer patients, donate a kidney, a lung or a piece of your liver for those in organ failure. It's no bid deal to you anyway.

That would be all nice and dandy but to be honest most places wouldn't accept my blood or marrow...they'd probably take my hair though.

Its probably a good thing most women don't report "sexual assult" because most of the time its their own faults anyways...like, "oh I had sex with this guy but now I really regret it and in hindsight he mighta been pressuring me so waaaah he assulted me lets lock him away in prison" So yeah, sexual assult laws are way too strict.
I thought nobody thought this way anymore..sigh (depressing)

What are you basing your assumption on? I would like to know what you know about the subject because I can assure you the post that you say doesn't make sense is absolutely right. Women who were raped or sexually assaulted feared for their lives (a high number of raped women die), lost their freedom, were scared, and that all causes them to never become who they were before, even though they can improve thanks to therapy. They suffer depression, and sometimes have self esteem problems. For some time, they reject men and sex even with the one they chose and love. It's absolutely horrible and speaking as if it's normal or making it seem like is not such a big deal is a sign of ignorance and hurts the people who suffered it, who are many unfortunately and some of them I'm sure posting in this forum. :(:mad

hmmm, have you had your bung hole packed before? lol umm.. Im sure its not pleasant. Im sure you would feel violated.

Per statistics, There is only 2% of men that actually report a sexual assault. Its mainly because of them feeling less like a man. Mostly because if anyone were to find out, they would think that you probably just got caught and cried rape. So, most men just dont report it.

I understand what you mean by some girls cry rape. But there are more people out there that AREN'T lying about it. These are people that have sexual intercourse against their will. Some get pregnant, some get STD's.. It is a big deal!

So if that man that just came into your mouth had aids, would you still say its not that big of a deal?
Which actually illustrates very good the psychological damage that it causes to both men and women. Very good post girl, giving you rep :)

I don't know, I think that is the right word to call him Peter

V and Breath, sorry to hear that you both had bad experiences. It's not fair and it is most definitely not right :(

I'm finding your comments idiotic, disrespectful and highly offensive :mad

My sister was raped by an ex boyfriend, she didn't want it, yet she didn't report him as she was scared. He had already given her a black eye.

An ex girlfriend of mine had been raped in a previous relationship, that scarred her to the point where trusting another man was difficult.

I once had a member of staff running back into the building crying and shaking because she bumped into the man that raped her.

I don't think they consider their bodies to be 'tools'. I would go on but I am getting increasingly disgusted and angry

I have nothing but contempt for rapists and people who think the way you do about this subject.

Yes, of course. I too know people who have been raped and sexually assulted, and I also know people who have been "raped" and "sexually assulted" in the most fake sense of the words. You are obviously speaking through emotions and personal point of view so its only understandable you'd be angry, but I would also like to suggest broadening your point of view beyond just your own.

thats ok, I have nothing but a sense of equality and understanding for you and your stance on this subject.

Actually Mirage is not speaking through emotions or personal point of view. He is citing the aftermath of rape victims he is familiar with.

Broaden our points of view? Can anyone explain to me exactly why our opinions are narrow?

I think the only thing clear here is that in those examples, each victim showed signs that physical and psychological damage go hand in hand. That is, you can't have one without the other. How can you see it otherwise? Do you know any rape victims that just said "Ah, well, it's just skin anyway." :confused
