Still considered kidnapping if he has crossed state lines. Then it becomes a federal matter. I hope this gets resolved quickly. Custody disputes are never pretty and nothing but harmful to the child involved.

Glad he's safe and I hope he gets returned to his Mum soon, sorry I didn't comment on this earlier but that was due the site being down, as you know, I posted out your bulletin on myspace.

That is something that my son's father wld attempt. I know right now he is up to something but don't know what, so I have a bit of a feeling as to what yr sis is going through.
I feel sure she will get him back - fathers like that do it because they haven't and refuse to move on and have that bitter streak in them. They also, very falsely, think that in their very warped way, they will look 'good'. They need impact to make them 'get noticed' as the attention has been off them for so long - he sounds like he is in the gutter, with having done what he has done.
It will catch up with him - well, you will know that anyway, as you are in the force, so although the time between now and when he gets back to his mum, will be anxious and tiring, she will get him back.
My thoughts are with you all V.

Not to be mean, but did the kid run away or did his daddy come swipe him?
At 13 a child is going through a lot of changes, turning from "child" into a teenager (sub adult). It can make them do some very irrational things, and make illogical decisions.
If he ran away to go live with his dad, he must have had a reason. If he did that, might be a good time for some family counseling to find out the reasons and try to fix them .. before he files to go live with his dad permanently. They can do that at that age.
If his dad swiped him, I would go after him with everything I had. There is no sense in making a parent (regardless of which one had custody) distraught like that over where their child is.
Having children is certainly one of the toughest things a person can have going on sometimes.

Ok-to make the story short... Gage got into trouble at school for skipping... Valerie punished him by making him stay in his room/ no tv, ect. WELL.... Gage, called his daddy up and told him. Within the next few days, that is when Brian came to his school (keep in mind, this is a good 14 or so hour drive) and took him from school. Im sure gage went willingly because he was mad at his mom for disciplining him. BUT, The father has no custody and is a dead beat dad. He has never even paid a penny for child support.

Don't mean to be nosey but what's your sister on probation for? I know the feeling as I nearly got deported from Australia till I threatened to cause a huge diplomatic incedent. Is there a local polatician she can contact who will give her some credit to cross state lines? It worked for me.
She has several reason...
-theft of idenity x2 (from me)
-fraud - she tried to cash two checks out of my bank account acting like me...
-forgery - over 50,000 dollars total (ranging from the time she started this shit when she was 17 until now)
-credit card fraud
-theft of money (from her different jobs)
-selling of crack or some hard drug like that...

I kinda agree with Homer too - it will be hard for you having another to see to, even if you are close. It would all depend on what it is he is feeling right now, as to how it could affect you and your kiddies.
