We are all tall so removing the hanging light in the dining room really made sense.

Nice work! My wife always laughs at me when I'm remodeling or building something, 'cause I have to take breaks from time to time to admire what I've accomplished to that point. I can hear her now, "If you wouldn't spend so much time admiring your work, you could have been done days ago...". MEN!!! Gotta love us!

Very nice, my friend. I need to hang the flatscreen in my room. I have the mount, I'm just lazy. :D

Is it bad that I preferred your old light fitting?

It was the original light fixture when we bought the house. It was cheap and hung too low and rattled every time a door closed. I really think the new is an improvement.

I like the new light, Fred. The wood (I think it's wood) around the light really sets it off, and keeps the decor similar to what you already have.

Although I too like the old lighting fixture better, if you are all tall and constantly having to duck, it makes good sense to change it. Good work Fred!

The TV was interesting because it is 32". I really felt it needed to be stud hung. I discovered there was a cable run in that wall but was bear on both ends so I had to attach ends and run to my antenna to see if it would work or if I needed to run new cable. Then I wanted the wires hidden but my wife was particular about holes being covered too. I got real inventive but it looks good in my opinion.

I liked the old fixture too but if you were bumping into it or it was in the way I get it. Good work though. Hanging the flat screens can be a long job!..Looks good!

That old fixture is like some of the things I have been saving from garage sales back home..
