I always wear mine, but I have a big issue with my daughter, she lets her 2 girls lay in the back of her car on their way here in the mornings, with no belts! To me thats not showing many brains. And she goes on the Freeway. I have told her over and over, that its not even just about getting a ticket (which she couldn't afford) but its about her kids living! Not much I can do other than that since she's an adult. (According to her age at least ;) )

All the time. All of my schoolmates and shipmates that have lost their lives in auto accidents did so simply because they were too cool or just too lazy to buckle up. I make the adults sitting in the back seat buckle up too even though in a lot of states that's not required. Last thing I need is a 160-200 lb human come flying at me from behind if something makes the car stop unexpectantly.

ACtually, you could always report her to the local highway patrol office. IF you're willing to swear out a statement that you've seen her not buckle in her two kids, the cops will serve her with a court summons and she'll have to answer to a traffic commisioner. It's very drastic, but you might just save your grand-daughters' lives.

actually my oldest sister doesnt wear one because of an accident she got into...the seatbelt tore her ear almost clean off...only part attached still was left hanging by the cartilidge at the top of the ear. Lucky they could fix it...but since then she hasnt worn one. Shed rather take her chances with her airbags

Wow, that's just stupid on your sister's part. An airbag will kill her if it goes off and she's not wearing a seatbelt. Every test they've done to study this proves that the combination of the two is very safe, using the belt alone is still safer than not using it at all or relying on the airbag to save you.
