My boys have a trampoline in the backyard with a net around it... and me and John were laying on the swing we just got, watching them. All of the sudden my 5 year old falls thru the net onto the ground. They didnt zip up the net after they went in. He was crying real bad and scared the hell out of me. He wanted to go inside and watch cartoons. So I was sitting there with him trying to put ice on his head. (he didnt let me) John looked up on the computer if we should take him to the hospital or not. It said that if he is acting ok and his color is right then he should be ok. It said that kids have thick skulls and "kids heads are meant to be falling down". Im keeping him up for a few hours cuz I remember my mom telling me that if you hit your head or fall down to stay up for about an hour. Anyway, that swing has just brought me bad luck :( and I dont know if I want it anymore. They are on that trampoline everyday for hours, and this is the first time this has happened. Now, we will remember to zip it up.

Thank you. We watched the Spongebob movie together, and he was laughing and acting like his normal self. So that is a relief. :)

Thank you Kat for your kind words. I am the paranoid type too. I jumped up off the swing and ran over there to grab him. He said "I wanna watch cartoons" as he is crying! But he said he is "never going on that dumb trampween again!"

lol sad part is you know as soon as he gets a chance he will probably be back up there again.

With Kylie it scares me that child has absoultly no fear...cracked her head on a hardwood floor got a huge lump...didnt even cry. Shit kids are scary when your paranoid about keeping em as safe as possible.

glad to hear hes ok though

Aww, bless him Suzie.

Glad he is OK now and good old Spngebob, eh? lol

I always watch my son too, after he hits his head. Always the right and best thing to do. Delayed concussion can occur too, so you did what you should I reckon. :)

My stomach turned when I read yr post - I am no gd with things like that.

Aww thanks guys... its sweet to read your caring thoughts. He is finally sleeping now. I checked on him a few minutes ago and actually woke him up... on purpose. And I asked him if his head is ok, he was half asleep and said he is ok. And I said I love you and he said I love you too. :)

They really are meant to take a lick.

Mine was still a baby baby and I evidently didn't get the strap to his punkin seat locked in properly (seemed to be locked, but I guess it really wasn't .. it clicked though) and when I turned around to get his rice cereal he pitched forward (he was hungry I guess lol) and pitched himself right out of the punkin seat and onto the floor .. HEAD FIRST. I flipped completely out. Took him to the ER. He was alright though. They basically told me the same thing .. kids heads were made to take a hit. crazy

Kids will scare you half to death, they are such a huge responsibility.

Glad yours is ok though .. I bet you really did freak out. I bet he did to. I've been bounced off a trampoline onto my back before .. it'll really scare you!

*btw a punkin seat (for those that don't know) is a seat kinda like a car seat, but not quite as fancy, that you sit on the table to feed babies in.

I think my sister has one of those punkin seats SRC. I never knew the name of it before but after you described it I think thats what she has. It has a little suction cup on the bottom of it. I dont think they had those when my boys were babys.
My 8 yr old son met a friend a few weeks ago. (We're still new here) And he has been coming over every day, just riding his bike over and dropping in. He is such a sweet kid, and my boys play so well with him. But your right, kids are such a HUGE responsibility... I get worried when he is here becaue I dont want anything happening to him either and having his mom blame me for something.

Lord other kids make me SO NERVOUS! My 10 yr old gets SO mad at me because I won't let him or his friends ride his dirtbike when they are over. I'm afraid if they get hurt on it their parents might try to sue us lol.
