I ended up just putting the MicroSD card in its adapter and transferring the music that way. But I would like to figure out how to get my computer to recognize my phone for the future.

Here Dana, right from Samsung.. :)

How to transfer music to Samsung Dart t499:

1. With the Samsung Dart is idle mode, use a compatible USB data cable to connect it to a Windows PC or OSX Mac on any available USB 2.0 port
2. On the Dart, tap Turn On USB Storage
3. If prompted on the Windows PC, click “Open Folder To View Files”. Otherwise, launch My Computer and double-click the Removable Disk that represents the Samsung Dart
4. Copy music files from computer to storage card

"2. On the Dart, tap Turn On USB Storage" THIS is where I get lost. Says the same thing on Gamblis.

Mine has the same pop up menu every time I plug it in even if it's not a Samsung..

It come up with a little screen that says the following
USB drive
Sync Media
Charge Only

You will ONLY see that menu if it's plugged into a proper USB port that is NOT only charging your phone.. If it's only charging your phone it will not work right and you will not see that Menu on the screen of your Samsung phone..

Check your USB Cable to make sure it is connected properly.. ( I mean giggle it in the ports ). Yes I have had problems with this in the past..

Also try another USB port if that doesn't work..

Some phone only let you see the screen for a few seconds after plug in so keep it close to you..

My computer hates me... It's plugged in nothing popped up on my phone. Maybe I'll have to take it to Walmart to see if someone can help me...
