I only watch the international matches, rather than the league, it is much better watching our 'international' football team

Used to play it.

Don't realy watch it anymore, doesn't interest me as much nowadays.

10 years of negative English rugby hasn't helped.

All the time...and England just beat us again.:(

At least we could get a win against Ireland

finally we see some form, don't feel too bad, it'd been a long time coming...

Well since 2003 it's been patchy, aside from the surprising performance to get to the final in 2007, but it's not all bad, beating Australia the other day was no mean feat. It's not that they're a bad team, it's just that from 2001 - 2003 we had an outstanding team. It's a lot to live up to.

When I was a kid, I remember watching an England team full of top class backs, who could split teams apart with their movement.
Guscott, Carling, the Underwood brothers were all top class. Even Rob Andrew could play a bit.

Now, you couldn't buy a decent English back for any money...

I hate this trend of bogging the play down with the front row, and engineering scrum collapses and kicking for victory. It's a negative way to play to rugby, and it really damages the game.

I see your point but really disagree. When England play well, they play to their strengths which is the physical size and strength of the forwards. English rugby is about possession and drive, sure, it's not a flashy open game like the southern Hemisphere teams like to play, and leads to fewer triesm but I think it makes for great matches - really physical, really tough, brutal matches. I love watching England drive for the line, there's really nothing like it.

You want an open game from a top class English side, watch the sevens.

I like Rugby Union and always watch the World Cup and the six nations. Never really gotten into Rugby League, too much stopping and starting for my liking.
