rottweilers

Funny this came up as a subject. Someone was talking about a Pitbull that was killed and there was a rash of people talking trash about them and Rottweilers. I have personally only known on Pitbull and it is the sweetest, loving dog, I've don't see her often but she's never given me any cause for concern.

I've seen Rotties and, again, I personally have had no negative encounters with them.

I love my two papillions but the male jumps and barks all over strange males, thank GOD the mailman is extraordinary patient and made a effort above and beyond to befriend Rocky, when he is gone there are times we had to get our mail from the P.O.

I don't blame people for being leary but I think, as with people, you got to take them one at a time. But then I'm not afraid of very many animals, I seem to get along well with them and vice-versa.

about 15 or so years ago rotties were getting alot of bad press over here, well one day when my daughter was 2 or 3 we were walking from the shops, well this old lady walked around the corner with a old grizzly looking rottie next to her......my daughter just ran up and threw her arms around the dogs neck and gave her a big hug.....the dog absolutely loved it.....i cant say i was impressed at the time though

Have any of you watch the video of the rotti getting attacked by some random cat. The rotti wouldnt even stand up for its self.

the rotti i use to have was like that too. the biggest suck face on the planet

Most of these dogs are cross bred. there have been many studies done proving that most dog attacks are done by cross bred not pure bred.

"There are numerous myths and tons of controversy surrounding pit bulls and I intend to help show the world the truth behind these wonderful dogs, and give as much general information about them as I can. I would also like to get more of them rescued and into happy homes.
Remember that pit bulls are not inherently mean or aggressive towards humans. In a recent study conducted by the American Temperament Testing Society (ATTS), Pit Bulls received a passing score better than that of breeds who are considered "nice" such as Beagles and Golden Retrievers! This study proves the ignorant belief that pit bulls are inherently aggressive towards people is FALSE.
It is humans who make some pit bulls vicious. Bad owners, abuse, improper socialization, and irresponsible breeders are what make any dog, pit bull or not, a "bad" dog.
Do not confuse the unfortunate dogs who have horrible owners with the vast majority of properly loved Pit Bulls that remain solid in temperament, affectionate, trustworthy and friendly to their dying day!

Dog attack also happen for reasons. People goofing around and hurting the animal, parents not teaching their children how to be around dogs, the people that train them, etc

My rotti and pitbull never attacked anyone or did they nip/bite at my younger brothers. My one brother was 2 when we got our rotti and they use to sleep together. the baby would pull his ears, stick his hand in his mouth, pull his tail and what not. My pitbull was the same way. Scared of her own shadow.

People need to stop and do their research before blame a breed. The only dog that ever bite me was a lab. Wow isnt that just crazy.....25 stitches. my big suck face of a rotti was also a attack and the stupid bugger didnt even fight back....that really sounds like a mean dog to me.

STOP BLAMING THE BREED cause you little lab or poodle could be the next dog attack killing a child.

Unfortunately you cannot deny the facts that those breeds have an exceptionally higher rate of aggressive behaviors.

Yes, training and cross breeding are variables that have a significant impact, and yes, there are plenty of exceptions, but the facts about those breeds and their genetic tendencies are real, and must be taken in consideration.
