The biggest thing that is slightly off to me is that we offered Wayne a new contract at the start of the summer and it was turned down then. Now from then to this surely something must have given for one not to have been signed in the meantime. I know there was at the time 2 years left on it, but still. Now as far as his agent goes, it's pretty common knowledge that Paul Stretford is just in it for the money (as is the case with any agent) which leads me to believe that he was just holding out for more money for his end of the deal, now I'm not privy to the cut he would get, but I can make an educated guess that's it's big. So he has a lot to answer to for seemingly turning Wayne's head. But in turn Wayne was out of order for going to the press and saying he was never injured. Well he clearly was against Rangers, even Stevie Wonder himself could see he got injured in that game. And then the prostitute allegations came out and he was dropped then to basically try and get away. The cover being the injury (which he had in stages) of course. As for where he'll go....well again it depends on his agent for me. If Manchester City offer a big wage and the huge signing on fee then Stretford might want him to go there. But the Real factor comes in too, with Ronaldo there of course. Nike could play a part here too if they are clever, the feeling is that with Rooney and Messi, who are huge players with Nike, both at Barcelona, they would be a bigger money maker for Nike because of the presence of both at the same club, so they would give Rooney 10 million euro's to go. Chelsea could buy him of course, but to be honest I think he wants to leave England. Which is why my gut instinct tells me he'll go to Real. As for us missing Wayne, sure, anyone would. But the thing is, in the last seven months Rooney has been terrible, no getting away from it. He's not been scoring and to be honest his body language is way off from what it should be. If he thinks it's wrong that he was dropped then he's dead wrong.

he'll go to spain
i thought he was a home body i.e i did not think he would ever want to leave England , also going to eityher Real or Barca puts him very much into the Champions League Opposition, and we all knwo how much Ferguson wants to win that one

I believe he probably would prefer to sell to a Spanish club, in terms of not being direct competition. I mean we're not guaranteed to meet either Real or Barca, but would obviously meet Man City in the normal season, so that's where the difference is. As I say, depends on the offers that come in. His 'injury' is a 3 week one, in which the club will try to sit down with Rooney and Paul Stretford and try to hammer out a new contract, but with all that's gone on it's unlikely.

Story over, Rooney's come off the drugs and agreed a new five year deal.

fergies been clever, and he never forgets.....at the moment its a buyers market, and with the thing about rooney being able to buy out of his contract he was on to a loser......what he'll do i reckon is wait until rooneys firing on all cylinders then off-load him,he doesn't like being held to ransom and hes realistic in his opinion that no players are bigger than the club......rooney will leave but when fergie says so....and to the highest bidder

Yeah good point on it being a buyers market but the thing is with the fact that Rooney is now on a huge contract and with the fact that his agent is obviously taking a big payment too it would obviously mean that it would be a very limited amount of clubs who could match or better that. That being said I think it was all about wanting the money and holding out for a bigger contract which he, and his agent, have been clever with in terms of getting that deal, because in real terms, losing someone like Rooney who, despite the fact he's been shit this season and since March, is still a prize asset and without doubt the biggest player at the club and losing a player with that profile to ....well ANY club really, would have been a huge mistake and it would have sent the wrong message out. As for wanting the ambitions, we're still very much ambitious and will be in that Title race this season and once again challenge for the cups, we did it when Cantona left, we did it when Beckham left, we did it when Van Nistelrooy left, one player leaving, despite the profile, wouldn't have dented the ambitions, there is just more competition for it this season. It's just that with Rooney here, if he comes back into form which I think he will given the fact that this is over, we have that better chance. But as I say, his form has to be regained because it's been poor this season, anyone can see that. I don't think he'll leave at any time because as I alluded to before, he's got the money he wanted and really with the ambition still being there he has no reason to leave.

Lets face it, the only reason this is news is because he's been a bit shit lately. He's still the best English striker around ( who honestly do you think is better) and just because he's shagged a few prossies makes no difference to his ability, even if you do think he's a cunt for it. Quit reading the Sun, people, isn't it ironic that the paper that claims to support England most is the one that tries to destroy it at every opportunity.
