I took a drive to the river and saw the ice traveling along at a pretty good clip. It was very cool to watch. I was mad at myself for not taking my camera along.

I also saw 2 Canadian Geese walking along the rocks. What a picture I could have had! *sigh*

Anywho.... I'm taking about an hour and a half road trip tomorrow to see if further downriver there are any ice jams that I've been hearing about on the news. I am taking my camera this time. :)

I'll report back soon with pictures.

Okay. Just returned from my roadtrip a little while ago. Had a lovely morning and afternoon. The weather was cool but sunny. Not a lot of traffic due to being a Sunday.

I'll post the first shot and see how long that takes due to my dial up. Then I'll see about posting more pictures.

10 minutes later!!!!! Wow! I thought I'd just upload from my desktop, but it's taking way too long. So.. I'm going to upload the pictures to Photobucket and then post back here later.

For now..... Here's one picture at least. This was a place about an hour or so away downriver.

It was going by at a pretty good clip too. We were hoping to see an ice jam in that area.... but obviously it was broken up by the time we visited the area.

I'll upload the other pictures later. I've got a couple more from that area.... and then a few from the area closer to where I live. I swung by on the way back home and was surprised at the difference between my visit yesterday and today. I'll explain more when I post the pictures.

actually it has been warming up over the last week

that river sometimes gets shut down for the freighters and they have to bring in coast guard ice cutters

hard to believe it could ice up as the current is very strong

Here's one more for now.... I had so much trouble trying to upload to Photobucket. Ever since I updated my browser. Sheesh. I managed only one in all the time I was fooling with it. It was quicker (bwahahahahahahahahaha) to upload from my desktop. :willy_nilly:

Tis why it was in/on the news. And they don't call me an ambulance chaser for nothing. :D

Ummmm..... Actually.... No one calls me that. Sometimes if one hears/reads something and it's safe to get close to it.... I may go check it out. Sometimes I wait too long and it's all over by the time I mosey on over. Don't always have my camera on me though.





Miniature Horses is a nice name for what they really are.... runts. :D

Well.... the sign said Miniature Horses. Pretty sure they'll get more money for them advertised as such rather than as runts. :D
