Well, Peter Falk.

Peter Falk, the American actor famous for his role in the TV detective series Columbo, has died at the age of 83.

Falk's lawyer said the actor died peacefully at his Beverly Hills home on Thursday evening. He had reportedly been suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Falk won four Emmys for his starring role in Columbo, which ran from 1971 to 2003. Lieutenant Columbo became well-known for his trademark raincoat, cigar and his killer catchphrase: "One more thing …"

Falk also starred in The Princess Bride and Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire. Falk received Oscar nominations for Murder, Inc. and Pocketful of Miracles.

He last appeared in the feature film American Cowslip in 2009.

He is survived by Shera, his wife, and two daughters Catherine and Jackie.

Oh, what a pity. :-/ Columbo is kind of cultic. Always loved it when he stopped in the doorway or returned moments later and asked, "Just one more thing..." :D

Rest in Peace, Mr. Falk. :(

OMG No :(

Peter Falk was one of my all-time favorite actors. He was awesome as Columbo, and I loved him in one of my favorite movies of all time... The Princess Bride.

Sad day indeed.

Whoops that was me, I originally put my thread in latest news but when I was merging it had the drop down on movies for some reason and I forgot to change it back to Latest News. Hold on.

It seems the guy who played Columbo died from a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Kind of ironic that everyone else knew his killer but he didn't.

Too soon? :ninja
