Of course Atheists limit their basis to this physical world. Name some other world that is accessible that we can examine and shed new light on the issue. Speculation and conjecture don't count. It is also worthless to consider anecdotal evidence as it cannot be confirmed. To accept something offered as evidence we must be able to reach a consensus and that is not possible if only the person experiencing the phenomena has access to it. Just because a thing can be imagined doesn't mean it's true, or even possible.

I'm psychic. You are going to get a more productive conversation if you can manage to avoid the "in-your-face" responses which you seem to prefer. Secondly in a thread like this, it's better if you quote the comment you are responding to. Thirdly, text chat can be frequently misunderstood if you don't go out of your way to clarify what you are talking about.

Finally if you are referring to my statement "The primary difference between your view and mine is that you feel there is enough evidence to believe and I don't." My impression is you are not a theist and that you believe there is no God. If I'm wrong, let me know in a friendly manner, or I may just ignore you.

Yes, we make determination based on what we know, but the debate is we know so little, do we have enough info to make 100% informed determinations? I say no, we don't have enough info to make an informed decision about everything that takes place after physical death. Yes based on observation, we think we know what happens to the body after physical death, and we assume consciousness dies with the body. I think it is a reasonable guess, but for lack of knowledge, it's still a guess and I prefer to reserve judgement.

If 100% is all there is to know, what we know is so small it might be tough to fit it on this page as there would be too many zeros. (abbreviated example: .000000000000000000000000001%). IMO, this fact makes it prudent to remain open minded. If you don't believe in UFOs, because they can't be proven, what are the odds you are right? There are clues all over the place. Do they have merit? It is undetermined, there are no odds. A UFO could land on the White House lawn tomorrow and so much for the odds.

I agree with the first part. As far as the creator, I really don't know what to believe but I suspect that most of what is promoted as "religion" is some combination of wishful thinking, manipulation, and childish simplification so we can convince our puny brains we know what is going on. The creation of our plane of existence is simply beyond our comprehension.

If there is a creator behind the screen it really has no interest in affirming it's existence or answering our questions. But maybe that is just not important? By the same token, what about all these obey-or-else rules??
