There was an interview with the creators of South Park where they talk about Dawkins and I pretty much agree with what they said. They said that Dawkins is too whiney and bitchey.

I love Richard Dawkins.

Nah, many here are afraid to debate and would rather stick to patting each other on the back.

Your version of debating is 1)quoting scripture or 2)asking for proof about religious doctrine. Many are smarter than I am and simply elect not to engage in meaningless exchanges with you. :)

Wow, at least I am not the only one then

Dawkins is focused and succinct on his anti-God position which tends to highly annoy theists. I might get whiney and bitchy too if I spent all my time debating them. ;)

That doesn't surprise me. Anyone who can think can see through his bullshit.

My version of debating is presenting my points. If that involves scripture then I am open minded enough to use it. I also allow for others to do the same without trying to hang a nametag on them.

Dawkins is focused and succinct on his anti-God position which tends to highly annoy theists. I might get whiney and bitchy too if I spent all my time debating them. ;)

hahaha! The creators of South Park called Dawkins whiney and bitchy. I guess Matt and Trey are big theists. hahaha! hilarious!

What's hilarious is the latest of your flawed assumptions. To clarify for you, Dawkins does not deal with Matt and Trey on any kind of a regular basis... Lol.

Whether people are born gay, or whether they become gay as a result of their environment and upbringing, either way I've never heard anyone say that they decided to become gay.

I think I actually agree with doombug - in the end, does it really matter why people are gay? It's a personal preference that doesn't actually hurt anyone else, or even affect them. I see why it is an issue though - if it could be proven to be genetic then it could hardly be defined as 'sinful' because it's completely involuntary. The only reason people are bothered is to try and show those who persecute gays that they're wrong to do so, but to be honest I think that sort of person wouldn't be convinced even with scientific proof.

Never heard on someone wanting to be gay?

Matt Stone has come out as an atheist. Trey Parker does not subscribe to a certain religion, but he has been on record saying that to believe everything that has come to existance just sort of happened one day from nothing is one of the hardest things for him to believe, and that to him creationism is more plausible.
Either way, they rip on all beliefs and religions so who cares?

Dawkins gets as much hate as he does praise, to say he isn't a brilliant man purely on his knowledge of the scientific method and his debate skills is quite foolish

Either way I think Matt and Trey hit the nail on the head. Besides I think Dawkins is pretty much a con artist anyway.

It was inappropriate for a stranger to invite Rebecca Watson to his hotel room for a cup of coffee. Someone who is willing to break that social norm is unpredictable. Being stuck in an elevator with an unpredictable man would be quite unsettling. Watson has my sympathy. But using this as an example of "blatant misogyny" seems extreme.

I wouldn't be surprised if all the sparring between PZ Myers, Watson and Dawkins is mainly an attempt to get media attention.

The ironic part is, if she got wound up over being asked to join him for a cup of coffee, she clearly needs a good lay and just chill the fuck out.

On one hand I tend to agree there was some over reaction by the woman. Some guys hit on every woman they run across....they are just "playing the numbers". But Dawkins response is uncalled for. He first responded by pretty much saying since there is worse treatment of women in the world, as against muslim women, she has nothing to complain about. I guess until those problems are taken care of, with muslim women, then feminists can't complain, according to Dawkins.
