I was the first to post my opinion in this thread and that sparked the debate. Many here have accused me of flaming but I don't give 2 shits and I will just keep posting.in a way i applaud the Bishop, he stand behind his belief with no fear, he hurts no-one in this action , he creates debate - a good thing - passion is necessary to fulfill life, good for him
and btw kelvin, fine that you post these snippets of news, maybe some opnion/comment from yourself on the actual subject rather than a response to the reaction might be in order, otherwise you may well be accused of flaming
so your comment is that you think it is strange that Kennedy supports abortion - that is not muchI was the first to post my opinion in this thread and that sparked the debate. Many here have accused me of flaming but I don't give 2 shits and I will just keep posting.
I do agree some are hypocrite. And no he is loving but if you choose not to follow him then he is just and judge mental..
I dislike Christianity as a whole, but I can respect the priest actually having balls and doing what he should do from a Christian standpoint.
You're probably right, but don't blame the priest. He's just a soldier. Blame the Catholic Church for this one. This is absolutely positively 180 degrees WRONG.
Christ taught over and over again that it is NOT the role of the Christian to judge others, or to assume that they are in a position to do so - only God has that right. Christ specifically taught that his followers should accept all people, especially showing compassion for those who did not believe or who were "lost." The Christian church is founded on fundementals of taking those who may have "strayed" from their beliefs, offerering them forgiveness, offerering them redemption, and putting forth all efforts to draw them BACK to Christ. Refusing someone who has "strayed" the most holy sacrament that is meant to bring one closer to God is EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of the very basic tenets of Christian faith.
From a Christian standpoint, the priest is failing miserably at his most primary role.
