I feel fairly accomplished today... I replaced a tape drive, fixed e-mail problems, and found a way to avoid doing anything actually aggravating for the first time in a month or so.

Now it's relatively quiet, so I'm dedicating some time to working on a website project I'm working on with someone.

Pretty much... my first year we had a wage/hiring freeze, so I didn't get a raise at all. Then the pittance last year... and I figure since my review was even worse this year than last year (my boss hates me), I'll get an extra $30/mo from this one.

More like a pervert... he doesn't like the three guys in the office. On the other hand, he flirts with pretty much all of the women sans one, cause she's in her 50s (like he is). Hell, he flirts shamelessly with our 24 year old receptionist. But the guys... well, we get treated like shit and held to ridiculous standards. The only reason I had anything good in my review is because our HR person made him put it in there.

Tell HR that the flirting and favoritism is creating a hostile work environment. :D

I have, and she knows it... the problem is that our parent company won't do anything. My boss was hand-picked by the CEO, and even reprimanding him would look like a failure on his part. It's pretty fucking ridiculous. We've lodged a list of complaints about him, and not a damn thing has changed in the nearly a year since.

I get my pay raise today... I'm expecting somewhere between 1.5% and the 2.1% I got last year.

That reminds me of my former boss (we all called him "Ebenezer Scrooge")...

The last year I worked there we got a pay raise of 1,5%. - But don't anyone assume that we got that instantly, oh no. "0,75% immediately, and further 0,75% only when reaching a certain company result.." and then, when we reached the company result, he even tried to take us to the cleaners*. Such an ssshole, I could tell stories...)

*to take us to the cleaners - is that right? I got it from a dictionary... :ninja

I guess I got spoiled at my last IT job where I was getting 5-10% raises pretty much every 6-9 months. Of course, that was partially because they started me low, but still.

I think, of such pay raises we just could have dreamed of... And my (thank goodness EX-)Boss didn't pay well, too.
