Earlier this year, the Spanish government successfully raised the retirement age from 65 to 67 years, amidst massive (and what-a-suprise unnoticed) protests.

It's highly likely this will get raised again in the future, and it's been predicted that by the time I'm ready to retire, we could be made to work until we're 75...

Any thoughts on this? What would you consider a suitable retirement age? Or do you disagree with the notion of a fixed age?

yeah that does seem a little unfair, doesn't it?

I think it's a bit of a kick in the teeth for us. Our parents generation really fucked us here, we're paying for their laziness these days by having to work far harder for longer and for less money... life's great, ain't it?
 
I believe they talked about making it 70 here in Canada for at minimum one part..

You can get Canada Pension at 60 but it's reduced ( penalized if you want to call it so ).. Standard age is 65 as well for full benefits..

But can only get Canada Old Age Pension at 65.. They want this raised to 70 minimum..
 
I'm all for the rates being increased (equally for the sexes).

Personally (a) I don't want to be retired for many years and (retirement was originally to be for the last five years or so of your life, but with age expectations it's now 10 years plus) and (b) it's a huge burden here in the UK on us to fund people in retirement who (in large sums) don't actually want to be retired and would rather carry on being productive members of the community.
