Well I've been reading a couple articles that say that there is another baby boom going around, and that the ones who want to show off their wealth have a 3d or 4th child. Amy Ashley, editor of Teen Vogue writes, "The third child screams, "My apartment is massive, my S.U.V. is spacious, my cash unlimited!" <-- I so love this quote LoL
And then there is the flip side of the coin, you are seen as a "breeder" if you have more then 2 kids.
I am trying to compare the reasons for big families today and the reason for them in the past. :surrender
In the past it's simple- an extra child meant an extra working hand around the farm. An extra son meant more wealth- an extra daughter was another bargaining chip when marrying time came around.
