Republicans attempt to stifle action on climate change

Yeh, that Ed's a good egg ... a little cracked, but still. :cool
speaking of cracked eggs, if i remember correctly, you closed in on me toe to toe and nose to nose the night we met in a political forum.

both being well-trained military-type guys, i don't think either one of us got what counts in the real world as angry. it was more like dick-waving or hen-pecking and we've been cool straight along.

we have a serious presidential candidate getting ready to ruffle everybody's feathers starting in new hampshire. www.verminsupreme.com check him out. i'm the texas campaign manager.

he makes kinky friedman look like ronald reagan.

George Washington warned against political parties. The second president, John Adams, belonged to the Federalist Party. After that, the Democratic-Republican Party gained a stranglehold on the capitol and hasn't let go since, splitting into the two factions most people mistakenly believe are different parties in 1824.

So it's understandable when people think there are only two choices, because there has only been two for so long the belief has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. I would love to see The Party implode, regardless of what it does to the economy. We've strayed so far from our stated ideals that when those of us try to dig them out everyone else treats them like Greek myths.

Ostracize .... ridicule .... exaggerate.

Ah very interesting.

It's a shame the independents get such a rough ride in the msm...

There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the Administration of the Government, and serve to keep alive the Spirit of Liberty. This within certain limits is probably true--and in Governments of a Monarchical cast, Patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favour, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in Governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose--and there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be, by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched; it demands a uniform vigilence to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest instead of warming, it should consume.
