Report: Army Gets Fewer HS Grads

My brother tried to join the Marines. They wouldn't take him because he had a GED (they wanted at least 30 college credits to go with it), so he joined the Army. He's at bootcamp now. I'll never let him live it down! :24:

The Army isn't known for their high standards :smiley24:

It's one of the reasons I laughed during "Fahrenheit 9/11", when they were talking about recruiters taking poor people with no other options. They followed a Marine recruiter, which pretty much has the highest standards.

Interesting article AEF.

I watched a special on Discovery Times the other night about the influx of gang members in the armed forces, and that the fear is that they have loyalty to the gang first, rather than their own country???

They showed pictures and footage of gang activity in Iraq, and tagging on wals in Iraq as well.

WTF????

And to boot, they say that gangs are sending members to the armed forces on purpose to get the training that they want to step up the skills to the next level.

Basically the military is training better drive by skills.

Now, I am not at all implying that the military is a bad thing, so nobody get that idea.

It was just an interesting show, and they are discovering that some of the crimes taking place, especially involving guns, the skills that are being used have been taught to the criminal by the military.

Skills like "slicing the pie" shooting tactis taught by the Marines.

Whats that?

They showed security camera footage of a former Marine using this tactic against cops, he managed to kill two.

They said his training was far superior to antyhing thay had ever seen. They showed the footage to a detective and he identified it as Marine training.

Later, when they identified the suspect, they realized that he was in the Marine Corps.

The one in the rain? Where the guy ended up killing himself?

On the other hand. Some cops are horrible with weapons.

And it's way more effective with 4 people ;)
