Do any of you remember doing retarted things as a child that scared the snot out of yourself?

I remember when I was in I think either 4th or 5th grade staying the night at a slumber party and one of the girls was talking about "bloody mary". I had never heard of it before. We all gathered into her bathroom and turned off the light and stared at the mirror and repeated "bloody mary" a certain number of times in front of a mirror and then the virgin mary appears in the mirror, as if she were standing behind you, dripping with blood. But we all got too scared and ran out screaming after we started to attempt to do it.

One summer when I was about to go into I think 4th or 5th grade. Me an another kid walked to our elementry school to check and see what teacher we were going to have. Any way a secratary at the school asked us if we would help her catch a snake that was loose in a class room. So of course we did. We got this snake in a trash bag, and we brought it to my house. I put it in a empty fish aquarium. When my parents got home. They fucking freaked out on us. What we caught was a baby Rattle snake. So my dad took it out to the desert and let it go.

I think a lot of you did this, but we used to ride our bikes with no hands. When I think about it now, we did it going pretty fast, and all it would have taken would be to hit a small bump or hole and it woulda been a crash. But it was such a thrill going down a hill.

There was this huge tree in a field behind our house, I don't know how many feet high it was as I was about 7 at the time but it was taller than the water tower.
So, mighty high.
We called that tree 'the big banana!' I have no idea why we called it that. We just did. And the name caught on because most of the neighborhood kids also called it that.

We used to climb all the way to the top of that tree and go out on the thin limbs so that we would sway in the breeze. We called it "soaring like the eagles."

We did this almost daily until the neighbor man spotted us and told our parents.
We were promptly banned from playing in that field. =(

It never crossed our minds that we could have fallen to our deaths.

Years later I returned to the neighborhood and the tree was gone, So was the vacant field. But my brother and I still remember. :)

Sheesh, what didn't I do then that I would consider "dumb" or "life threatening" now?

One thing that I do remember is holding both prongs of an electric cord while plugging it into the wall...took my arm better part of 30 minutes to stop tingling.

Yeah...mostly because I was thinking afterwards, "No one even called my name for 45 minutes...I'd be dead if there had been anymore power coming through these lines"...I had a fairly decent understanding of electricity thanks to my dad...he was an eletrical engineer.

lol @ bloody mary. me and my friends went into the bathroom in elementary school and did that. much disappointment.

Silly things as a child???

Hhhmmmmmmm.

Let me see now...............

Cracked ribs from mtb incidents on 5 different occasions, 1 broken collarbone, 1 dislocated shoulder. Fire juggling, mountain unicycling....

I don't think I've stopped doing silly things, but I still have scars from falling off a bridge as a child, and I definately remember me, my brother and several others daring each other to touch an electric fence (which hurt!!):D
