All the web savvy members, do you think it's a good idea? I have the co.cc right now and it's free and works great but with the influx of commissioned work, would a .co domain be worth it? i found a site http://www.enomcentral.com/. normally it's 40 dollars a year but it's cut back to 15.99. I know dot co's are kinda popular right now. The only prob I see is it doesn't clarify if the 15.99 is just for the first year?

they do unless they're a redirect or subdomain. I was just going to get one because I'd register a simple domain as to not have it be long and drawn out. I was thinking since I named the blog/biz Dzign Concepts, I'd just register the domain dzign.co. Long drawn out domains are a bitch to remember and type.

Owning a domain at those costs are bare basics..

Think of it as the Walmart of Domain shopping.. You get a name and nothing else.. And by the way that is pretty expensive if you ask me.. Some are much lower..

If you need nothing else than it's not a bad investment but what you see is what you get.

Yahoo Small Business does it for 9.95

Dana,
I don't want to hijack your thread, just want to warn you and everyone thinking of doing it, to please be careful with Yahoo!!.. :mad
I hope my information can help you...

They get you with the very low introductory price, and then they lower the boom with force...
I've been stuck with three domains for the last seven years and can't get out of them.. I keep getting the same run around from them every time I contact them..

I've been wasting my money and cannot get help from them.. If I stop paying and unlock the domains, all my information will be made public again, and there is not a thing I can do to prevent it.. :mad

I registered the first one for $4.99, the second for $9.99 and the third for $12.99..
My financial situation changed after registering them... The businesses were put on hold, and the web sites were never done. The domains have been sitting there since 2004..
Yahoo increased the prices without notifying anyone about four years ago, and now each one costs almost $45.00 per year... And, the only thing you get for that price, is a page you cannot do anything with.. :(

If you would like to see what the page looks like, PM me and I'll give you the link.. I don't want to put it in here to avoid the search engines and the spam.

I just copied the following from my Yahoo Business Page.. It is a sample of one of my payment notices.. The three of them look the same, so I copied only one..
I've changed the sensitive information and the domain name with "xxx"...

You will see in the second part, "Service Details", that the payments are split into two..
That private registration payment of $9.00 is to keep your Whois information private.. if you don't pay for it, they make all your information public to the whole world.
The person that registered my domains and was going to build my web sites did not tell me to pay for it at first, and I got a shitload of spam on the first weeks after registering the first domain..
