Redbox buys Blockbuster kiosks

This is good news, hopefully they will stop charging $3 a movie at the Blockbuster kiosks, and just turn them into Redbox machines.

Aren't most video stores dying a slow death. We have a place called Hastings that is a big store that has lots of stuff they sell, games, knick knacks, music, etc anyway, included is videos and they e-mail us coupons when we hadn't rented in a while. I think the only ones thriving are the Adult ones

Same here, I miss being able to just browse the shelves, and find movies new movies based off the cover pictures.

I miss video stores. But when they are closing. My DVD collection jumped up big time. I walked out of one blockbuster with like 30 of them for about $5 a piece.

I have accomplished a hard goal the past 2 years (like I had a choice)
I have watched very little new movies so that they would be old movies but new to me and cheaper on my wallet

I like having a copy of movies that I enjoy. I want to buy them. We still rent from a convinent store around the cornor from the house.

I don't see how any video stores are remaining open, honestly. We have 2 or 3 in my town and the parking lots are ALWAYS empty. It's a little sad b/c when I was growin up it was like a Friday night treat every week to go pick out a movie w/ my mom and watch it.

You can't return them to those stores... Well you COULD but I think they'd catch on after the 3rd of 4th time.

Why would you return them? I assume if you are buying a movie, you know you want it? And if you did want to re-sell it, there are shit loads of third-party markets online.

Around here the only "video stores" where you buy movies instead of rent are X-rated. :tooth
