recycling

what do you re-cycle?......or dont you bother and are happy to see the planet raped of its natural resources?

Tried to rep you for that one, but I forgot I repped you earlier on your landscape pictures. Oh well...that was great!!!

I recycle paper, cardboard, and glass. I load it up and take it over to our local Happy Hour where the proceeds benefit the mentally disabled. Only 1 recycling place here accepts plastic and they are only open a few hours a day, so I don't normally get to recycle my plastic.

Oh, I recycle cans, too...we have a recycling bin at work where the proceeds go to the Firefighter's Burn Fund.

I also reuse all the plastic bags from the grocery store in our small bathroom trash cans.

I think they closed down the recycling center in the area. I dunno how true it is because I heard it from a friend but I heard the shit we recycle here just goes into the trash anyways. But I do bring bottles and cans back to the Redemption center. Soda bottles & cans are returnable here for 5 cents a piece and liquer bottles are 15 cents a piece. They go back to the distributor who melt them down and reuse them for future containers. We're charged a deposit fee so we're really just getting our money back on return.

I never understood why they don't have recycling bins at the barracks. You have any idea how many bottles/cans come out of there on Monday morning???

But we don't recycle because they don't come pick it up here. Sure, I could jump in my car and take it, but I'd say that rather defeats the purpose.

I recycle everything that is ment to be recycled!! :)

It's good in Canberra that every house has to have a recycle bin and it is bigger then the normal black bin...

I don't like Canberra but I do like this!! lol

Same here, must be an Aussie thing, all houses have recycling bins with lists on the lid of what can & can't be put in them. Melbourne also has green bins for all your garden waste (helpful for people in the city that only have small courtyards)
I recycle everything I can, I've just started my compost heap (just moved into a new place, garden needs some work) I use the water from my washing machine and sinks on the garden, I drink a lot of beer, so I recycle a lot of bottles :alcoholic:

I hardly ever throw things out, I even recycle my clothes. I make cushion covers, bean bags, different clothes, you name it.

Oh yeah...by the way, ladies, did you know that you can take your empty Bath and Bodyworks bottles back to the store and they give you something like 10 cents for them??? It's not a lot of money, but it's a good way to reduce trash AND gives you an excuse to go to Bath and Bodyworks. ;)
I have Bath & Body Works body wash my cousin bought me last year... Hmmm LOL

In the city I live in, you have to recycle cans, glass and plastic or they will fine you. Newspapers as well.
