I have one.
Nah, but I want one.
Cell I Own-
I work for my grandfather(Landscaper), so I own a company phone for when I go on deliveries with my uncle-

And my brother's girlfriend keeps buying him Cells when he breaks his. He's on his third cell in the past month, so I'm gonna talk to her tomorrow. I'm gonna ask her to get me one, and if she gets it for me, I'll pay the bill each month. I am aiming for this-

Now, before you guys spout off "You're 14, you can't afford that shit", I guess my brother's girlfriend has some connections because his first Cell fell into a wood-chipper at work, his second he broke when he got pissed, and his third one probably won't last too long. So I'll make her a deal, she buys me a Cell, I'll pay the bills and I'll take care of it. It could work.

But you're going to try to get Nextel? I hope you can, but I doubt you will be able to.

You ask why? Ok I'll tell you.

Nextel wants to stay within the BUSINESS market, not the general public market. When you go in and try to sign a contract, (which your bro's girl might have to do if she's 18) then don't be surprised when you get hit with an 500 dollar combined sign up and activation fee.

I rarely see regular people out and about with Nextels. But I see plenty of business people with them. Like contractors, phone techs, heating/ac techs, etc.

IMO stick with either Centennial wireless, sprint or Verizon. Shop around first then get the best deal.

I had Centennial. Great service, crappy phone. I switched to sprint, great phone, crappy service, high bill (55 for 300 minutes). So I went back to Centennial (60 for 600 minutes).

Reason being is that the 600 minute plan is 40 bucks a month vs Verizons 600 minutes for 45, then I added caller id, vm, texting and the such. With taxes and whatnot it came out to a little over 60 a month. I almost always have service, something I rarely had on Sprint after a year. (probably the phone, but oh well.)

Anyway, my dad has the top phone you're looking at and the next phone down is the spare Nextel we have for an extra in case we need two on one jobsite.

Well James, I currently have a pre-paid Nokia. It got wet, so thats fucked. I'm looking into getting a Boost pre-paid. More minutes for less. Direct Connect. Cheap phone. So that will be mine for personal normal shit until I get a real Cell. Now I expect that the bill with the cheapest plan would be 30 a month (I checked), plus I talk quite a bit, so about 80 a month. Activation fees.....da da da.....so I guess I see your point, but all my frineds at school have Nextels, so I feel like an Outcast without one....I could alway snag the business phone and show it off lol.

If your friends have Nextels it must be different where you live. The big thing Nextel is into up in the tristate here (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana) is keeping within the businesses because of the direct connect. Direct Connect is free of charge - it doesn't count towards your minutes.

Well for the pre-paid Boost, it takes $1.25 out of your minutes the first time, then nothing after that. And I'm in Florida. Nextel=Business and normal.

My friend who works with me had a razr phone and hated it. She gave it to her boyfriend and got something else. I'm not really sure why she didn't like it, I'll ask her when I see her at work next.

I went and checked out the Razer when I saw the commercial, and the display I was checking out was already falling apart. The flip thingy was loose and wiggly. I'll stick with my Sanyo.
