Plant City, FL was named after Henry Plant, the railroad developer, and not after all the plant nurseries around. That's all I got for now.
I'll add one, Fort Wayne (Indiana) was named after General Anthony Wayne who defeated the Miami Indians and built the fort at the junction of the three rivers, Maumee, St Joe and St Mary's in NE Indiana.
Coast Guard. He just join in September.
