Good evening, folks. I'm working the Command Post at the fair. One of my officers just brought me my gyro I've been craving and one of my medics just came in and gave me a back rub and neck rub, LOL I <3 working the Command Post!!!

AND the Fire Chief just brought me some regular creamer b/c he heard me say the peppermint creamer in here was ugly.

Man, I didn't think they'd EVER shut that Ferris Wheel off tonight. Yes, you heard me right, folks...the key to when we get to go home from the fair is when the Ferris Wheel gets turned off, LOL

It did!!! On weekdays, it's usually just after 11 PM that they shut it down. But on the weekends, it can go much later...hence me not getting out of the fairgrounds until almost 1 this morning, LOL

And back I go in just a few to work a barricade until 11 PM.

True!!! The Command Post is great b/c we can see the busiest area of the fair (the Clocktower from my picture last night) and people watch. Plus the first aid tent is just outside our post and they have a private bathroom we can use. The police officers, firefighters, and EMTs come in there and shoot the shit w/ us and bring us food if we ask them to. Plus we have a front row seat to the fireworks. Not to mention it pays double what working the barricades do.

The only bad part about working the barricade tonight is that I didn't get asked until yesterday if I wanted someone's hours at the Command Post. By then it was too late for me to find someone to cover my barricade. The GOOD part is that I'll basically be sitting in my car playing on my iPhone for 8 hours, LOL
