Hey

I am...but I'm pissy...sit back...long story....

A friend's son is in the hospital. He's 21 but has had turmors (benign) scraped from a bone in his arm a few times over the past year or so. He couldn't participate in sports, work out or do anything very strenuous, just in case. He got the "all clear" in August, so he started working out again.

Sunday, he was doing push-ups and his arm gave out...causing him to smash his face on the floor, doing damage, he instantly assumed something was broken in his arm, as well. When they get him to the hospital it's discovered that the bone in his arm "just broke". I guess it's a nasty break and he's in MAJOR pain. The doc wouldn't/couldn't do anything because his surgeon is in Halifax (4 hours away) so they load him up with morphine and tell his mom to sit tight.

5:30 Monday evening they get the all clear to take him to Halifax...she has no one to go with her, so she drove the 4 hours by herself with her poor, drugged up son.

I just heard that they can't do anything until tomorrow afternoon...he was admitted in Halifax and is waiting, still loaded up with morphine.

There's quite a history of bone cancer in my friend's family and she's FRANTIC with worry.

I feel sooooo sorry for them..I can just imagine everything that's racing around in her mind and not being able to do anything for her from so far away is killing me. I'm not very good at this waiting bit and knowing how upset she must be is making it so much worse.

UGH.
