Last night, as I looked up at the moon, it had this huge area that appeared clear from the moon to the ring around it and outside the ring it appeared milky for the rest of the sky. I tried to take a picture, but it didn't work because the ring was so far away from the moon. It only lasted a short while. Anyone have any idea what the heck it was?

I don't think I've ever seen such a sight before.

It was what is known as an ASTI vision :24:

I had only had my first glass and was just starting to buzz.... the other people I was with saw it and dragged me out to look. So it was there......

Hi, Haus!

it was probably the light from the moon being magnified and reflected by the water droplets in the clouds

It was totally an awesome sight. Almost like a hole in the sky and the moon was sitting dead center of the ring. Clear too inside the ring. Moon was very bright.
