Staring at the night sky
Watching as the moon rises
One by one the stars appear
As the sky turns from blue to a deep violet
This cloudless night is cool and calm
Not summer but not quite fall
And on this night it feels more like fall
Even though there's not a cloud in the sky
Trees sway in the light breeze otherwise they are calm
The sky lightens up as the sun rises
Bright orange chases away the violet
Frowning as clouds start to appear
Despite the clouds small animals appear
Attentively looking for food knowing its almost fall
Rabbits with their eyes almost violet
Constantly glancing up towards the sky
The animals start to hurry as the tension rises
They know rain is coming becuase it has been too long of a calm
But even as they scurry away it is still calm
And rain drops have yet to appear
Although the humidty rises
The clouds haven't condensed, and rain has yet to fall
I look up into the sky
It seems like only seconds ago it was deep violet
Now it is gray and not violet
I feel some rain on my face and know it will no loger be calm
The coluds are turning black in the sky
As it begins to rain harder a bolt of lightning appears
And a pound of thunder so loud one would think the sky would fall
I decide that i should go as the water level rises
But as i start to leave a sound rises
From somewhere behind me. I turn to see what it is and all i see is violet
I'm startled and i stumble and fall
I land hard and lay still trying to listen for the sound again but all is calm
I look up at the sky
Nothing ut my bedroom ceiling. I smile half expecting animals to appear
As i rise from my bed, i pause and listen, everything is still calm
I walk to my window, careful not to trip and fall, outside is still violet
Looking out to see if clouds have appeared but its nothing but clear sky
