Rain and driving = Bad Combo

Seems majority of people "forget" how to drive when it rains! We have had non stop rain since Fri night and 100% chance all the way thru until Monday. We're under a flood warning but man last night was horrid at work!!!
When I got there at 7pm, we had 18 ambulances between 7pm-11pm and EVERY one except for one, were from car wrecks! And I swear to you, every single person that came by ambulance was under the age of 20. No lie.
One of thw worst ones was where a 15 yr old was driving a vehicle with 6 people in it and she hydroplaned. Everyone in the vehicle was finr (except for bumps and bruises) except for one of the passengers who broke his neck. He is now paralyzed. Broke his C6-C7. They say he was partially ejected from the car. Its sad how 10 seconds can change a persons life and all because of the rain

Who knows. It is legal for 15 year olds to drive with their permits though. Perhaps she had a licensed driver in the car with her.

Hydroplaning sucks. I did that a few weeks back on the highway. Just absolutely insane.

In middle school, our bus hydroplaned once. The bus was suddenly perpendicular to the road and everyone was hanging on to the seats, trying not to fall out. Thankfully, the driver got it under control and I was the next stop.

I know this all too well.....rain was the leading factor to me sliding into the back of the 18 wheeler totaling my car and breaking my leg

and also why i was blindsighted by a tahoe, did 360's on the parkway and hit a guardrail

I would still take rain over icy snow covered roads anyday.

Although to much Rain ca be just as dangerous at times, mostly because at least with Ice and snow people are thinking about the dangers, they dont think about them with rain,

Last week there were at least 5 accidents reported on the radio for my drive to work. It was kinda slushy and shitty out. But people simply refused to slow the hell down.

Found out last night that the 18 yr old is paralyzed from the nipple down They say he's not doing very good at all. Breaks my heart.
