do you find that things have changed alot since?

i remember the late 70's when i used to go on rock against racism marches, bob marley was just a jamaican bloke who did awesome music(he wasn't a colour he was bob) and i beasted a lad for calling a woman a paki

i must say though that where this country has changed alot, other places haven't..like the jamaican i know is the most racist person i know

In my limited view - things have changed. Back when I was younger, you didn't hear so much of asians/blacks attacking white folk but these days it seems to be a little more common. Violence/hate breeds more of the same and consequently the disaffected white youth retaliate. Combine that with the inevitable rising levels of minority groups in the U.K. and groups like the BNP and EDL start to come more to the forefront of the disaffected.

I think what you are saying about the Jamaican you know is true in some asians I've known. They are racist themselves and whether this is because of their upbringing or experiences I do not know.

Ultimately, it all leads to the feeling that Britain is not as nice a place as it used to be.

At my uni, there are a number of black and asian students. Although we're still quite poor in this regard compared to other parts of the country. This is no doubt due to the availability of reasonable student loans. A lot of them do come from the poorer areas of the country, and the bursary which you don't have to pay back really helps them. They can and do earn 20k when they get out of uni, it certainly helps break the cycle.

My school is relatively diverse as well. It's so laughable because up here, we have schools that almost exclusively cater to Long Islanders and hence are 90% white, upper middle class.

The schools here cater to all ethnics. I would say factually that the white male has less options than all others.
There are special deals for Hispanics, Afro Americans, Indians, Foreign Students, and Females
