Quick question

A while ago I had the 404, then it was running real slow, but it's gotten better again now!

Is this site running slow for anyone else, or is it just me?

No it's not just you.

I can usually tell when it starts slowing down, eventually it'll just give up and won't open.

After a while it'll come back up.

usually have that problem here too, same thing when i'm at work so it's not my connection. 4 times out off 5 i get a "page cannot be displayed" if i try an hour or 2 later it might work or not... when i finally do log on the site runs great.

Yeah...I've experienced the same thing. I sometimes have to make certain I add the 'www' crap in before the site decides to come up, and other times, I just say 'forget it' and move on to other things...then someone from here will log on and ask me something, and I'll come back, and it'll load once again for me. *shrugs*

But yeah, it's running a little slow tonight. I had to wait two minutes for a reply to finish posting...and I'm on the fastest cable they allow at a residence. (I really wish we could get a nice T- line over here...anything would do...lol)

Sim, you realize you can just bookmark stuff, or add to favorites (whatever browser you have) right? You don't have to type it in every single time.

And NO...I sure didn't know that...especially considering I've had computers since back in the day of blue boxes... *coughs* I'm not your typical blond female who hasn't a clue nor a brain to put one in...

I don't use bookmarks ever. I remember all the places I need to get around to, and only type in one letter, then move down with the arrow key and hit 'enter'. Another fun thing with Opera is the ctrl+C-ctrl+D move.

Yeah, but those same people are the ones that can't even get here to begin with. *smiles* And, I might add, need to have computers removed from their possession immediately, should one be found making an ass of him/herself. lol

me too :dunno but i think it is due to the host because it happens to a few of the sites at the same time i guess they are on the same server?

last night we ended up having server issues last night. we have a server w/ like 3 other people on it. If they do something to their site, it screws us up too. Joe emailed the guy last night about this and he didnt get the email until everything cleared up. Kindof sucks. I guess we should go ahead and buy our own server. I just didnt feel like paying so much. LOL

alot of money goes into having your own server, aside from the obvious stuff...it will need a constant cool area to be in...I do not know about anywhere else..but in my neighborhood you have to have a permit to have a active server in your house...

yeah, the same thing happens to me on some sites. one site wouldn't come up unless i typed 'www' and it sucks.

Try Lunar Pages. Their plans aren't outrageous, and they give ya a buttload of things that some of the others don't. We use it and have NEVER had a problem that wasn't a direct result of my ex thinking he knows what he's doing. And another thing...they're available 24/7 and have any issues that might arise fixed within minutes. Lemme know if ya actually DO switch to them, though...I'll give you our site that you can say referred ya. (Hey, that referral fee has made it free for us for a very long time...)
